Ski Areas Operating this Weekend – 3/4 and 3/5

And just like that, we’re down to one. One mountain; one weekend; one more fantastic time. It’s gonna be a great weekend. Here’s how it looks:

Sugarloaf will be the only mountain in Maine open this weekend. SuperQuad is scheduled from 8:30am to 4:20pm on Saturday and 8:30am to 3:50pm on Sunday. Partly cloudy skies with temps around 60 degrees will close out the season with perfect t-shirt weather. 47 trails are open with 232 acres! It’s still deep up there. Last chair will be at 3:50 on Sunday. Who will be on it?

Stay tuned for my season recap coming soon with photos and more from this amazing season, including New England, Colorado, and France.

I’ll be out there; don’t miss out on the fun!

The “magic carpet” will look similar to this one.

Big Squaw is currently under contract with Starlifts USA which is based in nearby Sunapee, NH. This project will cost around $75,000, and your support is highly appreciated by donating to the cause: https://www.paypal.com/fundraiser/charity/2170175.

The Donaher Triple was installed back in the summer of 1986. Big Squaw hasn’t replaced or gotten a new lift since then – 33 years ago! Big Squaw is upping their game and beginning to expand after financial issues throughout the last 15 years. We could see the summit section reopened with lift service within the next decade! But for now, enjoy the new beginner carpet and triple chair.
