November 20th – PHOTOS #8

Maybe I should’ve called this one Snovember 20th with all the new snow… but anyways, there are currently 20 operating ski areas in the state of Maine. So, on the 20th of every month, I share a few of my favorite recent lift photos from around the world. This month, I’ve chosen 6 photos from Instagram to share with you.

Sugarloaf Opening Tomorrow!

14 hours. That is the amount of time until Sugarloaf opens for the 2018/19 ski season. Get excited, ’cause it’s gonna be a good one.

Sugarloaf employees “tested” out the snow earlier today, and all reports point to good. Actually, fantastic. And it only gets better…

Forecasts are calling for 6-10 inches of snow tonight into tomorrow night at both Sugarloaf and Sunday River. Looks like opening day will be one for the books.

Cold Temps Arrive, Guns are Blowing!

Beginning last night, Sugarloaf fired up their snow guns for the first time this season. Over 100 guns blew fresh snow on Tote Road, Candy Side, and parts of King’s Landing. Sugarloaf plans to keep the guns going all week and let the snow pile up, along with the help of mother nature.

Opening day is planned for this coming Friday, the 16th. And if all goes well, it looks like we may be skiing on more than just one trail. SuperQuad is set to spin beginning Friday morning at 8:30, so don’t be late.
