Sugarloaf’s DRC East Closed for Repairs

If you’re a Sugarloafer and were skiing late last week or this weekend, you probably noticed the Double Runner East chair was not spinning.

Double Runner Chair Closed // Taken March 3rd, 2019

At the end of last week during morning testing, lift mechanics noticed that the DRC East auxiliary engine was making an unusual sound. They ended up removing the engine from the terminal to further investigate. Replacement bearings and a crankshaft needed to operate the lift have ordered and are scheduled to arrive later this week. Sugarloaf hopes to have the lift back up and running as early as this Wednesday. Until then, Double Runner West will be operating serving the same terrain, plus some.

It will be interesting to see what Sugarloaf and Boyne decide to do with these two Borvig’s in the future.
