Plans for Gould Academy’s T-bar Take Shape

Gould Academy and Sunday River will be installing a new surface lift this summer. This will provide a more premier training and competing experience for Gould athletes.

This T-bar will run the length of the Monday Mourning trail. It will decrease the time spent riding lifts by around 40%. These student-athletes will no longer have to take the journey up Barker Mountain Express or the Locke Mountain Triple and ski down to the racing location. More time on the snow makes a better skier.

Although the numbers aren’t in yet, my guess is that the lift alignment will look something like the blue and red line seen above. The manufacturer has not yet been identified, so stay tuned for more information coming our way. Construction is set to start this spring and be ready for the 2019-20 ski season.
